The SAPPHIRE R9 280X TOXIC Edition features the exciting new Tri-X cooler design which uses three sophisticated aerofoil section fans together with industry leading 10mm heatpipes to give unrivalled cooling efficiency. The stylish shroud is designed not only to look cool, but to manage the airflow over the card for maximum cooling effect. This new cooler, together with a high performance 10-phase power management system and high quality components such as the SAPPHIRE exclusive double sided Black Diamond chokes and long-life solid capacitors, has enabled SAPPHIRE to deliver stable higher power levels whilst keeping temperatures low. As a result the TOXIC edition features extreme factory programmed overclocks, delivering the best performance in the industry for this product family. And at the touch of a switch, the user can choose between UEFI and non-UEFI platforms.

Sapphire Trixx - Tweak Utility
For enthusiasts wishing to maximise performance, a new version of the SAPPHIRE overclocking tool, TriXX supporting this latest generation of technology is available free to download from the SAPPHIRE website. TriXX allows tuning of GPU voltage as well as core and memory clocks, whilst continuously displaying temperature. Manual control of fan speed is supported, as well as user created fan profiles and the ability to save up to four different performance settings.



Black Diamond Choke & Full Solid Cap Design
Choke is an important component of the graphics card. By working with the component engineers, Sapphire’s Black Diamond Choke is 10% cooler and offers 25% more power efficiency than a normal choke. Improved reliability and better overclocking are possible by using only high-polymer, aluminum capacitors which posses far superior characteristics than regular aluminum capacitors for a longer product life. When operational temperatures drop by 20°C, the product life span is extended by a factor of ten, when the operational temperature increases by 20°C, the product life span only decreases by 10%.


PCB Temperature LED
SAPPHIRE’s TOXIC range features a LED temperature sensor build into the PCB allowing users the ability to monitor the PCB temperature when overclocking.
