This card uses a VIA chipset, which although fine for many Firewire devices, has issues with certain professional Audio Interfaces, including RME and MOTU. Therefore, if youre it for top notch performance of a pro studio soundcard/audio interface it is recommended you get a different card with either a Texas Instruments, or Lucent Technologies chipset.

Excellent product, plugged straight in,powered up pc.XP recognised it straight away & installed drivers automatically and hey presto i can now connect my camcorder

Another excellent bit of kit and very good value. It does has 3 external and 1 internal ports. After plugging in the board, Windows XP recognised it straight away and loaded the correct drivers. It is now happily running a ZIP750 Firewire drive and a Camcorder
