I like this product, it works well and feels solid. A few comments : - it is plug-and-play on Linux, and probably on Windows as well. You just shove the drive in and it should appear on your desktop or whatever you use. - you don't have to use the keys; the lock is optional. The door latches open and shut without needing to fiddle with keys. - the small fan doesn't spin very fast, so it's quite quiet. But it also doesn't ventilate the enclosure so well. I wouldn't use this to keep a drive permanently docked; the drive got warmer than I liked, although it wasn't roasting. - overall the enclosure reduces the noise of the drive a tiny bit, but you'll still hear it, especially considering that the enclosure is mounted at the front of the case and not inside.

Makes hot swaping of disks for backup and other tasks a breeze.
