great product for re-using all those old IDE HDDs a bit fiddly to get hdd into case otherwise OK

Great for using your old HDD, althought its a tight fit for HDD. Case does get warm but sides are made of a mesh which may help in keeping it cool.

I bought 2 of these to take to my son in Finland. I was a bit apprehensive because he uses Linux. However they were a doddle to set up and worked as soon as plugged in to a USB port. Excellent way to re-use salvaged IDE drives from his old PCs

My laptop detected and allowed access to my old hard drive. Useful and smart looking.

Neat and tidy device. Exactly what was needed.

Would have liked a little more room inside the case but works well.

The only disappointment is that this item does not come with an internal fan so the drive get''s very hot.

Great piece of kit,does what it says on the tin. A little flimsy on the sides when inserting HD. But Hey,look at the price.

Worked straight away with no problem. Hadn''t tried this before, so was worried I might need additional software, etc. but you just plug it in to the USB slot and it works! Enclosure was a bit tight - care needed not to break anything. The wire from the PCB at the back to the lights at the front - snags on the hard drive in the front corner and needs ''gentle persuasion'' to ease my HDD past.

I knew from the moment I opened the box that I was going to like this drive enclosure. It feels solid, looks great and it took 5 minutes to turn a spare drive into a useful back up device. Now if only I can convince the wife to let me buy another....

Don't normally do reviews, but this product is excellent value for money, and is well engineered. If you have a spare HDD it's a cost-effective addition.

What a superb item. Simple instructions - a doddle even for computer simpletons like me. Service from Novatech second to none. Up and running in no time following failure of previous Freecom enclosure.

I bought this to use one of my old ide drives for backup. 5 mins from opening the box and it was up and running. Supplied complete with screwdriver, leads and screws (4 supplied - 2 needed). The drivers weren't needed for win XP. Good, solid bit of kit with the usual great Nova service.
