Regarding 5000 hours issue, this has been fixed in latest firmware for quite a while now. Please make sure you run a reasonably recent firmware and you should be OK.

For anyone considering these I would recommend doing some research on the Crucial support forums.... Performance wise these things are great, but once you have used them for approx 5000 hours (about 1 year for most people) you will hit a wall of problems. For me I had smooth sailing for about 10 months, then they started crashing windows after every hour on the hour, a firmware update solved this (it was very difficult to update however), but it now takes 10 odd tries for my pc to recognise the hdd when I first switch it on. So yeah check out the Crucial support forums before buying.

Got one of these 3 months ago, I am using old sata 2 asus m/b but once installed with win 7 fresh install my boot up went from 2 mins to 40 seconds. Games & files load so much quicker as well best £165.00 iv'e spent.

Got one of these last week, and my WEI jumped immediately to 7.9! On a more practical note, however, games like Witcher 1/2 really play at a fantastic rate, as do FPS's. Needless to say, I thoroughly recommend this ssd, which now costs about as much as I paid for the 64Gb model a couple of years ago. ;)

Well recommended, I am using an old motherboard with sata 2 and have noticed the difference from a conventional hd, i have seen reviews to do with the old firmware not being great, but once updated 000F it flys :D and best value for money for under a £1 per GB
