Noticable performance boost and decent bang for the buck. It's worth noting that these are an upgrade from the 500GB version (not just higher capacity) and have 8GB NAND cache rather than the 4GB stated here. The Seagate spec sheet shows several differences from the 500GB version so its worth checking that out on their web site.

Only worth it in a laptop other wise go for 2 500gb ones for a desktop. THe startup bonus is nice but paying £50 for 250gb is not worth it.
