Read speed approx 65mb/s writes about 25mb/s.Why buy usb2 ? This is a perfect tool or gift. When using this drive in a usb2 socket it will max out at 34mb/s as usb2 can only reach 34mb/s, so this is faster than all usb2 drives at reading. Well worth it. see my 16gb review

The drive itself is good but didn''t notice that much difference in speed when using it in a USB3 port on my main computer, certainly not 10x anyway.It''s nicely finished, weel priced and will be used a lot.
