I upgrade around may of this year with this board a black edition 6 core fx bulldozer cpu and fire-pro v4800 gpu for the 3d modelling I do, I was happy as my old system was a 2 yr old fx 6core amd cpu and GA-890GPA-UD3H Gigabyte board I had 2 x 6 core machines and 2 x dual core machines running on my render farm it was awesome. But today my old GA-890 Board blew up taking out a 2 gig ram stick with it but she had done well in her 2-3yr life span and I worked her hard. lucky my processor and remaining 6 gig of ram survived. So now I need another GA-970A to replace my dead board. There is only 1 thing I hate about these later boards and that's the fact they have zero ide slots on them which renders old HD Drives useless even with a sata converter cards these drives pretty much rubish now. Apart from the above I have no other fault for the GA-970A Board it's a steal for the money.

Had huge problems with this board. PCIe slot didn't work fully and didn't recognise my graphics card. Custmor survice, as usual, was top. Took the board back and swapped out for different brand. I'm bug fan of gigabyte so was little disappointed but I'm sure this isn't usually the case for this brand of board

Really impressed with this motherboard,The dual bios chip is really good! Ram slots are great! plenty of choice! Chip cooler looks sexy ;) definately one to recommend for gaming ! comes with variety of slots! and 4 fan pin connectors :) it also supports up to 6 hard drives so it would be good for a home server! price is great! and quality is just amazing!

Great board, Brilliant price! I couldn't find anything better value than this. Its easy to install, although its rectangular so for the case i bought (ZALMAN Z9Plus) one side of the motherboard wasn't completely supported by the stand-off screws but that wasn't a problem, you just have to hold it whilst plugging the power in. Using this board, a SanDisk Extreme SSD & a Radeon HD 6850 got me a windows index of 7.6 so i couldnt ask for more!

Bought to upgrade my 7 yr old system - easy to install, easy to fit the cpu fan. Installed Ubuntu 12.04 super quick with everything working 1st time - no need to tweak anything,no need to find drivers. Love it.
