The board does the business. The sound had gone on my MotherBoard, this solved my problem. Dont be put off my the apparent lack of Windows7 driver. There is a Win7 folder on the CD.

I am a total computer novice and when a friend suggested i sort my sound issues with a new soundcard i just looked at him confused, but this is easy to install and with the help of a few videos i have got it up and working, im very proud! delivery was within 24 hours of me ordering, and that was with "economy" delivery, very impressed!

Excellent value for money sound card. Sound quality is surprisingly good played through my trusty class A amp and into some rather good floor standing speakers. Windows XP Pro worked fine.

***be aware*** This card would not work with my legacy Win98SE machine. The card would not be recognised at all! Also, although Linux compatible you have to be very expert because you have unzip and compile source code, then use command line to configure and finally you have to recompile your operating system kernel. Not for newbies or for those used to rpms or use of yum.

This is a great card and does everything a multimedia card needs to do. Games sound fine, Music/General use sounds great too...and a great price!******WORD OF WARNING THOUGH******This card will NOT work in PCI-X slots

I needed a new soundcard, and I needed one that was cheap and of good quality.This card came with those two qualities plus with 6.1 capability and most importantly works FLAWLESSLY with Linux. A bargain in my mind.10 of of 10 to Novatech for supporting products that work with Linux such as this card and their budget PC systems.
