Great for the price, but beware if you have a Panasonic TV - you may not get sound using the HDMI link. You can get around problem if you have an external amplifier to conect to - use HDMI for the picture, and the 2 x sound phonos of the composite link to the amplifier. Remote Control is fiddly, but if you want to connect USB devices to TV on a shoestring, then this could be your answer - £20.

The one I received was a Sumvision product. Excellent little device, plays USB and SD cards very well. Some problems with incorrectly formed AVI files but that''s less an issue with the product than the encoding. One thing I will say is its INCREDIBLY small. 3 inches by 2.5 inches, I was very surprised in a good way.

Great little box for the price, there are bigger and better ones around but they cost considerably more.

I?d been using a hard disc based Sumvision player for a while but it ceased working via the remote so I stopped using it. No, I?m not too lazy to get out of my chair to press buttons it?s just that not all functions (like pause) were available on the front panel. Also having to unplug and carry it (and the unique power supply) up to the computer for file transfer was a pain which put it at risk and may have even been the cause of it failing. Then this came along. At a measly £23 I thought it worth a punt so bought two (one for a daughter) and have to say it?s nothing short of brilliant! Files are transferred via a USB stick (or SD card) so it never has to be unplugged and carted around the house. It?s HDMI but old, non-HD TVs (like mine) are accessible via a separate AV socket using the included cable. But what?s maybe a killer is that the USB port which the memory stick plugs into also provides a gateway to an external USB drive so I?m still able to access all the files on my old Sumvision ? from the comfort of my armchair! So far I?ve only tried it with ?normal? media files (AVI,MP3 and JPG) and accept that some of the less common ones may not play but if you want a universal device you?d have to pay a lot more. It?s so small and light it could perhaps benefit from a self-adhesive pad to anchor it securely as the cables do make it float around a bit. How durable it will be only time will tell (it?s also made by Sumvision); it?s very tiny and the remote is not the most substantial but, as a stopgap until I get wireless access to the media files on my PC this will do very nicely ? all for £23. I?m so impressed I?ve just ordered another for my other daughter. Cheers, John

Fantastic item ! Up and running after two minutes out of the box. Novatech service was second to none, ordered on Monday 10am arrived Tuesday at 9am and that's on the cheepest postage rate! 5 star service & item as always. If there is a snag its that it can't play MKV video files but it does not clam to do so.
