Novatech Receives AFC Silver Award
Here at Novatech, we are no strangers to the defence sector, with over 35 years of experience delivering custom, cost-effective technology solutions that help drive training, simulation and real-world applications, for some of the biggest names in the Defence, Aviation and Marine industries.
With a passion to support and give back to the community, we have taken the time to further our connection with the forces and we were recently granted a Silver award for the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme.
The award comes after we joined the Armed Forces Covenant back in 2021. This is an enduring covenant between the people of the United Kingdom, His Majesty's Government and those who serve, or have served, in the British Army, Royal Navy or Royal Air Force.
Businesses and charitable organisations who wish to demonstrate their support for the Armed Forces community can sign the Covenant, making a range of written and published promises to set out their support to members of the Armed Forces community who work in their business or access their products and services. For the last two years, we have been part of a growing number of more than 10,000 signatories.
By signing the Armed Forces Covenant, we pledged to:
Promote Novatech as an armed forces-friendly organisation
Support the employment of veterans and service leavers
Offer flexibility in leave for services spouses and partners before, during and after deployment
Support reservist employees allowing leave for training and deployment
The Silver award signifies our ongoing commitment to these pledges. In particular, we have:
Proactively demonstrated that service personnel and the armed forces community are not unfairly disadvantaged in our recruitment and selection processes
Kept everyone here at Novatech aware of our positive policies supporting defence personnel and compatriots
Demonstrated support to mobilisations for the Reserves
In other words, we’ve gone above and beyond to ensure we are supporting those in the defence sector!
Given the work we do in the Defence sector, we are immensely proud to be able deepen our commitment to the armed forces even further with the Silver Award.
As we raise the bar higher and continue our journey as a forces-friendly employer, we hope to inspire others with our example and encourage widespread adoption of supportive initiatives.
Together, we can create a workforce that embraces diversity, harnesses unique talents, and recognizes the extraordinary contributions of our armed forces community.
