Here at Novatech, we are extremely proud to have recently won the “Outstanding Contribution Award” from local charity, Friends Fighting Cancer.
The charity Friends Fighting Cancer was founded in 2009 and supports local families who are affected by cancer and are going through one of the toughest times in their lives.
Friends Fighting Cancer operates a grant-giving service, offering grants to people affected by cancer in the Portsmouth and Southampton area. Families can use the funds provided by FFC to help with anything they are struggling to find the money for, from weekly food shops and utility bills right through to specialist care equipment such as new beds and furniture. Grants vary from £100 through to £1000.
FFC also now run their own shop where they sell a variety of pre-loved sporting equipment and clothing, located in the Cosham High Street. The FFC Shop aims to offer good quality items at a price everyone can afford with profits helping those in their hour of need. FFC do everything they can to raise vital funds for those affected by cancer, from football tournaments and charity walks right through to skydives!
Throughout 2019, here at Novatech we have supported FFC through being the official sponsorship partner for a number of their events, including being a sponsor of their Charity Boxing event called "Fighting For Cancer" back in October.
On the 16th November 2019, a number of the team from Novatech attended the FFC awards evening where Novatech were presenting with the "Outstanding Contribution Award".
Charmaine Budd, Marketing at Novatech commented “Supporting such a fantastic local charity has been great and it’s amazing to see that our contributions have been noticed by us winning the award”
In the upcoming weeks, we will also be donating a number of our new Reign Gaming PCs and other gaming equipment such as keyboards and mice to the Children’s Ward at The Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham in collaboration with Friends Fighting Cancer.
The partnership with FFC will continue into 2020 where we will be sponsoring a number of events throughout the year, we are even hoping to have some of our staff participating in the future boxing and football events throughout 2020.
Ray from the charity commented about our contribution and partnership saying “Novatech have given us some fantastic support for local events recently and are already helping us with future events at the end of this year and into 2020. It's great to have a partnership with a local business and their work has been acknowledged with this Outstanding Contribution Award recently at our Awards Event. We look forward to working with the team at Novatech throughout 2020.”
Over the years here at Novatech we have supported a number of local and national charities for a selection of causes. The team here all get involved and help out where they can, previously taking part in bake sales and 24-hour virtual reality simulator sessions.
Earlier this year for Children In Need the Novatech team got involved in a cake sale and duck race.
By taking part in these events it’s not only amazing raising money for a number of well-deserving charities it’s also a great team-building exercise for all of the staff!
