This is a slick little performer, noticeably faster than the phenom II 965 it supplants. The small footprint allows access to all of the SATA connectors, the upmost ones on wider Matx motherboards tend to hide behind the DVD writer in my Bitfennix case. Connecting the front panel is as fiddly as ever. I managed to get into a tangle reinstalling Linux but that is resolvable. One gripe is when idling (typically in setting the BIOS) the CPU temperature climbs above the 72 C maximum in the specs. If you set a warning at 70 C you will receive an irritating prompt. The cooler is very quiet. As ever, fuller explanation of bios settings in the manual would be appreciated, but is unlikely to ever happen.
