* First laptop I've had from Novatech. * Replaced Dell XPS15z which died horribly after only 13 days. Don't buy Dell! * Installed dual-boot Win7 & Ubuntu Ocelot - very successful although the Intel Optimus drivers are not very mature on Ubuntu yet. * The nSpire case seems just a little plasticky, but is apparently tougher than the Dell's (which snapped off at the corner after only 6 days. Did I mention Don't Buy Dell!?) * £300 cheaper than the XPS15z and a much higher spec too, except for the monitor - actually I prefer 768px high laptop screens for normal use.

Bought the laptop without an operating system, and installed Windows 7 and XP easily. Very impressed with the spec of the laptop, considering in other stores only integrated graphics are available even up to the £700 mark. Gaming performance is brilliant, and the driver cd set up everything for Windows 7 automatically. Some online reviews have drawn criticism to the quality of the casing, but it looks great. The processor features Intel QuickSync technology, allowing videos to be converted at ridiculously high speeds (with the right software), a feature which proves useful for backing up home movies. I've had no issues with it, and it works really well.

Brilliant laptop! Runs everything I throw at it. It's great for multitasking and gaming - unbeatable price and I'm sure it's faster than the more expensive alternatives. The customer service is also brilliant, and delivery was about a week early! I ordered it on a Monday and got it on Wednesday morning. I don't understand all the complaints about the chassis it's perfectly fine, and the material seems to keep the laptop cool for long periods of time, not to mention it is surprisingly light! Forget all the other stores, from now on I'm shopping here for my computing needs.

I bought the Black edition i-7 to replace my old war horse (over 5 years old but £1500 so top spec back then!) When it suddenly overheated I needed a replacement quickly! For the Spec it worked out several hundred £££s less than the dell alternative (XPS). What I cannot understand about this computer is the price, the elite version of this laptop (which has very similar spec)is nearly double the price. Which makes this model an excellent choice. What amazes me the most is how cold the laptop feels I use it for CAD and gaming so it has to perform well. It takes a very long time to get hot meaning working for long periods of time is a very pleasant experience. It also starts up in roughly 7-10 seconds which is astounding! SSD hybrid at 7200rpm drive clearly makes a lot of difference! Although people have complained about the casing, I think the laptop looks great but the plastic on the bottom of the laptop does not appear to be anchored together very well, but it is still sturdy! so don't get me wrong I love it! Also if you get the chance and require it, buy a USB 3.0 capable external drive, the data transfer speed is unreal! My large Cad files work excellently! The laptop was with me within 5 days, excellent customer service who tolerated my daily progress update requests! Thanks Novatech!

Great laptop. Two problems: The cooling vent is below the side of the chassis, so if you're using your laptop on your lap or on uneven surfaces, you find yourself blocking the vent. Secondly, despite being spec'd as a 'gaming laptop', the keyboard only accepts 3 simultaneous keystrokes. This makes it difficult to play most games.

First laptop I've bought from Novatech and definetly money well spent. Fastest laptop I've worked on. Being a gamer myself I find this laptop very accesible and can run all the latest games including The Witcher 2 which is quite hardware consuming, currently running it at high-ultra settings without ubersampling. Very nice design, worth every penny.

2760 Black Edition ordered and delivered before Christmas. Excellent build quality, superb sound, amazing performance. I love the keyboard and also the provision of a proper number pad! The finger print reader is great, the touch pad can get in the way but it easy to disable if you prefer a mouse! Excellent laptop well worth the money.

Good laptop, it's fast, decent graphics, sleek feel. The only thing i dislike about it is the lite up novatech text in the top right, it's annoyingly bright and there's no way to adjust it. Other than that, this laptop is the best on the market and plays the latest games well.

Even though i got this laptop without that special hybrid hard drive, its still phenomenal. Been playing stuff on high graphics like SWTOR without any trouble. The CPU is just indomitable, nothing ive put it through has ever strained it beyond like 40% of its potential. In the reviews people also complained about the screen being too dim and the whole thing feeling plasticky but honestly its more then bright enough, and aesthetically it looks pretty good, better then i had been expecting with all the bad press it had gotten. For what you get for the price you pay, there's no competition, genuinely =] p.s - customer support's great too ^^

I have never heard of Novatech before and was a bit dubious about buying a laptop from an unknown manufacturer, however, I am more than pleased with placing my order for the Nspire 2760! My main reasons to buy the laptop was to play games comfortably, primarily SWTOR and thank you to Kevin for his review because it sealed the deal for me. I ordered on Monday and was expecting to receive the laptop on Friday, however, it arrived on Wednesday, an added bonus. I had a few problems with how to install everything correctly but the Novatech technical support team were fantastic and helped me in a way that was easy and efficient. I don't see why some people have complained about the chassis of the laptop as I think it looks great. It doesn't look cheap because there is a faint streaked design on the silver which isn't evident on the picture and gives the laptop another edge. I found typing on the laptop extremely easy and don't get the "stiff keys" problem another reviewer explained. This machine is amazingly quick and I will definitely recommend Novatech to any of my friends! 5* Quality. Thanks Novatech.

Received it yesterday, best computer I've bought. Came quicker than predicted. Installed 7 and then installed the drivers which came included on a disc. 15-20 seconds for a restart (I dreaded the restarts when updating everything, was quite happy to commence with them after the first time). Overall, a pretty amazing piece of kit for the price. My mate bought a similar spec laptop for almost double the price. Definitely recommended

This laptop is very good. The graphics card has coped with every 1080p film, the latest Duke Nukem game and much more. The screen is only 720 res but still looks really good. The keyboard feels nice and it has a full number key pad. The mouse is in a slightly odd place but works well. The only problem is that you sometime catch it when your typing which is annoying. The speakers are also great and can go louder than any other laptop iv used. It has buttons on the top for volume, track back and forward and a few other useful ones. Overall this is a great laptop, bit pricey but for what you get, i7 processor, 8gig ram and a hybrid hard drive that makes it start up in around 30 seconds, (and that's fully up and running, not just windows and then you are waiting for the other programs to finish loading). I also took out the 3 year warranty for about £100 and added a blu ray writer for about £70 (SON-5750H). I did have a sight problem fitting the drive but the guys at the Reading store help me out and ended up fitting it for me. Many Thanks again for that. 5 star laptop and 5 star service.

First time I've ever bought a laptop from novatech and I am very impressed. Specifically bought the laptop for gaming and so far it has managed to handle everything I throw at it (Skyrim, Metro 2033, Shogun 2, etc etc...) Loads very quickly (about ten seconds from windows loading to getting to this site) and the subwoofer means the sound quality is excellent. Don't know why people complain about touchpad because it comes with a button allowing you to turn it off if it annoys you. As for the casing, this laptop's beauty is all on the inside, so who cares if the casing looks a bit plasticky or cheap? It's a laptop, not a handbag. 5 stars.

Word of warning, the drivers cd that came didn't seem to want to run, so i copied the files to my hard drive and ran them from there. The Machine is a beauty, it isn't the most expensive design, the keyboard feels a bit cheap, but works very well and i like the chiclet design. The touchpad is a bit squeaky to touch (if that makes sense), this doesnt bother me as i use an external trackball. fingerprint scanner works well but takes a while to setup as it can be awkward to scan certain fingers, but just keep rubbing your fingers across the scanner and it seems to pick it up. I had this customised with the Crucial RealSSD M4 128GB and this makes things extra snappy i believe. very quiet machine! finally, here are the windows experience scores: processor - 7.5 ram - 7.6 graphics - 6.8 gaming graphics - 6.8 primary hard disk - 7.9 overall 6.8

This is the first laptop I have bought specifically for gaming and entertainment. I looked around for a new laptop for a good few months, looking at big brands as well. This was by far the best spec that I managed to find for the price (similar spec sony was >£1000). Ordered the laptop on a tuesday morning, with an expected delivery of the following monday, but to great surprise it turned up the following day at mid day!! I have tried to test it out with the more graphically demanding games, plays battlefield and TESV on over ultra quality with everything maxed out. Beautiful graphics from a very clean and crisp screen. The keyboard is a pleasure to type on, very responsive. I dont know what people say about the touch pad getting in the way, it is perfectly placed for playing games, as well as typing up work and iv had no hassle with it so far. All in all, I would (and have) recommend this to people, and for novatech services, online and the speed of delivery I have to give them 10/10.

This is the first complete computer that I have purchased from Novatech, having previously bought components to build desktop PC's. Plus Points Never worked on such a fast laptop before. Quick to boot and quick to process whatever I am doing. Yet to fully test it with photo editting or the like but so far so good. Screen is very clear and keyboard has a reasonable touch to it. Inclusion of a number pad is a great help for crunching numbers in a spreadsheet. The sound quality from the built in speakers seems reasonable as well. Downsides I don't know if it is the size of my hands (quite big) but I keep touching the touch pad with my palm which jumps the cursor around the screen when I am typing. Also the laptop comes with only a driver disk. No windows media or recovery disk, so don't forget to make one as soon as possible, especially if you don't have a windows disk (not included when you add windows as an option). I added the Blu-Ray drive to my order and you literally get just the drive. Windows does not natively support the replay of Blu-ray disks, and so you need to set aside another £60 to purchase PowerDVD or similar to enable replay of Blu-ray movies. Overall Thoughts Good value for the money. A couple of things missing that would have made a difference as mentioned above. Closest alternative that I was able to find was a Sony Vaio laptop which had nearly everything that was in this package but with a 17" and I didn't want a laptop that big for travelling with as I have a nice 25" monitor at home to use.

This is the first laptop I've purchased myself, although I have used them for years at work. I've never considered one for myself due to the relatively low specs and high prices. I've always built my own PC's, but times change and I decided a laptop was needed. This laptop is FAST! I purchased it without an operating system and installed Ubuntu 11.10, boot time is about 15 seconds. I've tried it with mainstream photo-editing and the laptop has handled it easily. As another reviewer has noted the touchpad is pretty sensitive and as it's a 'flush' design the cursor can be easily moved unintentionally. For anyone looking for a true gaming laptop they may want to consider a machine with a full HD screen as you may feel held back by the 720p resolution. For the price and spec, this laptop cannot be beaten!

Brilliant laptop, people should get refferred to this site rather than Curry's or PC World, they are getting ripped off. This laptop runs EVERYTHING i want it to run on what ever settings except the obvious Battlefield 3, it runs in on high settings and does a really good job at it. I looked on forums at this laptop and people have said about the chasis been horrible, plasticy and just generally horrid, I can honestly say for what I have paid for I didnt need this BUT, its brilliant the chasis does not wobble when typing or playing games If you want to play games on the go and pay nothing for it GET THIS LAPTOP! Games it can run: Battlefield GTA 4 Minecraft CSS L4D Hawx 1 & 2 So basically anything.
