This case has a very specific use; it is fundamentally designed for a medium power, low cost, Home Theatre PC. The new ASUS CM60M1-I is almost the perfect motherboard for it, running a 64GB SSD, will provide an excellent platform to provide HQ Audio and/or SD video; drawing only 24-35 watts. The problem with running to, say, an 1155 motherboard will introduce cooling issues. There is insufficient room in this case for even a low profile CPU cooling solution, so you do need to look at All-In-One motherboards. The 2.5" HDD tray has a cut-out for a 40mm fan but this diameter doesn't shift much air and is of limited use, especially since the fan area is packed with wires, mostly from the 24-pin EATX connector and the other front panel wires. It is well constructed with an option to mount horizontally using the supplied stick-on plastic feet or vertically using the specifically designed case supports. It should be noted that the USB, Audio and SATA/MOLEX connectors are housed beneath plastic covers either side of the front of the case, so a vertical case orientation is preferable to facilitate access. Up and running, the case presents a cool blue illumination with an integral HDD light. The power switch is obvious and there is no reset switch.

This case is extremely small, so is very cramped inside. It seems to be solidly built, and has the normal front panel connectors (2 x USB, headphone and microphone) hidden away under a side panel near the front edge of the case. However these would only be accessible with the case vertically mounted. Under a similar panel on the other side are SATA data and MOLEX power sockets. This is for informal attachment of a SATA device, although the SATA data cable and MOLEX to SATA power cable are not supplied. Unfortunately some of the wires in the connector supplying the MOLEX power had become detached, so although I could supply power to it, I no longer have the ability to attach an internal device with MOLEX at the same time. So I'm docking this box two points in the review for poor wiring. If you order this to collect, open the box in front of the sales staff and check the red and yellow wires inside on the molex connectors. You will need a #0 Philips screwdriver. I installed an Intel D945GCLF2 atom motherboard, but no disk drive. This is running as a thin client for now. If you are installing e.g. a socket 1155 motherboard you WILL need a very low profile heatsink/fan. The power supply is fine, but the location of the power connector on the case is over a motherboard mount, so you have to remove the power connector to fit the motherboard. Be careful when sliding the top cover on not to trap any wires. There are a lot of wires and not much space, and the power supply input wires are particularly vulnerable. This case is not VESA mountable, which is a pity. Would I buy another one? Maybe, but I would check it before leaving the shop.
