Similar experience to WH0315, power keeps cutting out. Also USB port is not flush with casing, and there was a noticeable scuff on the case, which make me think that this has been used before. Will be returning this item tomorrow.

Ordered one of these to supplement/match the same model that I have had running well for about 2 years. The product supplied is not as pictured being silver not black & lacks the blue 'disc active' display at the front. The casing material seems thinner & the mounting system allows the drive to rattle in the case & the stand is cheap/nasty. No comparison to its predecessor which was a quality bit of kit. The real issue is that after spinning up the drive just once, the unit no longer powers up after I turned it off - its going back at the weekend! On the plus side (hence the 1 star) ordering & delivery was great and this is the first poor product that I have had from Novatech in many years.

Good while it worked, but has failed after less than two years. Has been in fixed position, so not moved about. The Drive inside is fine - have tested, but the enclosure no longer powers up.

Maybe I was a bit unlucky: Bought 1 unit, after assembling I realised that the power adapter was faulty, so I returned it and got an exchange. On unit 2 the power adapter blew up before I even managed to put the thing together. Top service by Novatech, though.

As other reviews, have said: a very complete kit, solid and easy to assemble.

Recommended by tech support and it is better than I expected, a fantastic purchase.

Fast when used as a Sata, to setup in windows 7 make a directory called GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} then in the directory goto Administrative Tools and click create and format hard disk patitions.

E-SATA is a great feature- this is why I chose this. They look good too!

Amazing value. This comes with an Esata lead, pc back plate and even a screwdriver! Has usb as well as Esta.

Been using various external HDD enclosures for years but I like these in particular as they dissipate the heat well and give you a choice between SATA and USB connections. If they had an internal power supply I would have rated as excellent.

Easy to set up with the hard disc with added bonus of the required size screwdriver supplied. Generous lengths power, SATA and USB cables supplied.

Good product but a bit fiddely to get HD in

I have only just received two of these enclosures and I must say at first glance they are prefect. Very sturdy build and really easy to install, as stated in another review they even supply a screwdriver! They look good in shiny black on top of my Xblade case too :)

Very simple to set up, just ignore the installation manual about loosening screws first, they actually are in one of the plastic bags in the box! Simply slide the cover off, clip in the SATA HD and slide the cover back on again. Then there are 8 screws to insert, 2 in each end to hold the case together and and 4 in the underside, to hold the HD secure. The SATA to eSATA converter bracket and cable are a real bonus, plus the external power supply means my aged internal PSU isnt further taxed. Really good value product and delivered on the day promised.

Solid looking piece of kit. WD 500gb HDD slotted straight in in seconds. Even comes with a screwdriver, all required cables and eSATA backplate for PC. Did not seem to get too hot when in use, Cheap alternative to ready made eSATA External drive, which still seem to be overpriced.

Very nice enclosure.Easy to fit your drive and work fast over USB.Unexpected bonus is a backplate and cables allowing you to plug the drive into a spare Sata header.
