Further to the previous review: I bought one of the single plugs recently. It was the same model and spec as the pair I originally reviewed. These continue to work so well that I've begun looking around the house for other things to hook up (I keep examining the wife while she's asleep for a likely USB connector - don't go there..:) The single plug is an easy expansion. I plugged it in, pressed "pair"....and it worked. Just like that. My telly is internet enabled and Samsung want one of my kidneys in exchange for the wireless dongle to connect it. I reckon I'll keep my organs and recommend these plugs for the beautiful simplicity of expanding the network they provide.

I got a pair of these and didn't need to pair them up they just worked out of the box. I don't need encryptions as I'm in a detached house. I did however use a cheap switch for my other pc's.The cheapest one I could get. Pat Keegan's advice is good though.

I picked up a set of these at the weekend from those helpful, yet surprisngly underpaid, folks at Novatech....:) They didn't work "right out of the box" as they'd have you believe. A little setting up was required. Nothing particularly difficult though. Here's a couple of tips if you're contemplating these as a replacement for a dodgy wireless link: Uninstall any management software for your old wireless card before starting. Don't bother installing the manufacturers management utility....it's buggy. The supplied cat5 ethernet cables are a bit on the short side at 1 metre each....so you might want to also buy longer cables if your router/modem or computer is more than 3 feet away from the wall socket. If you run into any problems, make sure you have 3 green lights on both devices before assuming you have software issues. and following on from that last..... When you "pair" them...don't hold down the button for more than a few seconds (despite the manual recommending from 4 to 8 seconds) or the device will reset to a random network address without the encyption function, or pairing, active. Apart from that....they do just what it says on the tin......and they do it better than wireless. Which would be the reason you thought of buying them in the first place. All-in-all, good kit. Works well in my standard 3 bedroom semi (even though it seems to have been wired by the anti-christ electrician).
