The ITX form factor has become increasingly popular in recent years, becoming a favourite among those looking for something more minimalistic, or else more practical when space is a premium. Subtle, sleek, and with no space wasted, mini-ITX PC cases offer an attractive option for the PC builder conscious of aesthetics, efficiency and practicality. That said, due to their smaller size, it’s incredibly important to check specifications to ensure that the components you choose will fit in your new ITX case. It’s also worth noting that the smaller sizes will limit the level of airflow compared to that of larger Midi Towers, so it’s equally important to consider matching your components with appropriate cooling solutions.

A Mini ITX PC Case is one of the smallest cases on the market with its sleek and small form they’re primarily aimed at users looking for a discreet PC or are in a bind with a lack of space in their office or on their desk. They are built to be compatible with Mini ITX Motherboards, which are 17cm x 17cm / 6.7 inches x 6x7 inches in size.
The designs of these cases have become much more evolved in recent times which has lead to an influx of Mini ITX Gaming PCs and Multimedia units however due to the lack of space inside them, even with a smaller motherboard it means that some of the more powerful and beefier components will not fit inside them, for example an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti is unlikely to fit inside due to the sheer size of the card but some of the Mini GTX 1050 and 1060 cards are small enough to fit inside comfortably to give you the dedicated graphics power needed to run most games on specific settings.
With brands such as Phanteks, Thermaltake and Coolermaster leading the way in designing these cases there are some spectacular looking ones out there now with Windowed Sides, Tempered Glass and even the Vertical layout now from Phanteks.
